I have been spending time evaluating various solutions for hosting my company's web site. I have settled on using Amazon Web Services. AWS offers many interesting features for the web site I have planned.
AWS is a PaaS platform that charges by the amount of resources your application consumes in a month. The amount can be extremely small given that most things don't cost anything until you exceed a 1Gbyte limit. This is very nice because it allows you to "sample" the services without spending a lot.

I have been geo tagging my photos over the last year. I currently use an external GPS logger to provide the location data. The process to tag a photo is tedious due to the requirements of matching up the location information with the time that photos where taken. This can also be error prone if the incorrect time is chosen.

Reading about the mobile application business has been an eye opening experience. Not only is it about excellent design, it is about reaching out and growing a community. Especially during the development process. So it seems advantageous to develop a company web site that supports these effort going forward.
The original vision I had for my main web site was confined to doing just a general overview along with options like using unbounce for application landing pages. Now it has evolved into something more.
